Letter from the Coordinator
Dear MRC Volunteer,
Welcome to the Northwest Louisiana Medical Reserve Corps (formerly known as the Caddo-Bossier MRC.) Becoming an MRC volunteer makes you a part of a local, state and federal Citizen Corps initiative, a component of the national Freedom Corps, to help those affected by disasters and to provide an essential component of public health. You have joined the ranks of many other local medical and health professionals striving to improve the overall health and well-being of our community, address health disparities and being willing to prepare for emergency response in the event of a local disaster.
By submitting your application, you have been added to the NWLAMRC database. At this time, the MRC is in the process of changing many of its directives to better serve the citizens of Northwest Louisiana. We are housed at the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Our name change more closely reflects our service region. Our immediate goals include development of a comprehensive web-based training program that will provide medical volunteers with essential emergency management information compliant with nationwide requirements while providing valuable CMEs/CEUs at not cost. Additional goals include the development of a fully functional website with the capability to manage volunteers during incident response and recovery operations.
We have partnered with the Metropolitan Medical Response System and the Red Cross to obtain and equip a trailer which will allow us to respond to and set-up and fully operational shelter acute medical care clinic within minutes of activation.
Please feel free to browse through this website for news and information regarding the Northwest Louisiana Medical Reserve Corps. Volunteers are needed immediately to participate in planning and development and to fill leadership roles. Thank you for your interest. I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,

Terry L. Strain, PA-C, RRT
Caddo-Bossier MRC Coordinator
